School had just finished and Jade had Cheerios practice. I had nothing to do while I waited for her so I made my way to the auditorium . I'd left everything -apart from my cell and my iPod and guitar- in my locker so I didn't have to carry it around until Jade was done. I'd pick it up later. My cell was in my pocket and I hooked my iPod up to the CD player backstage of the auditorium.

I noticed I had been dancing around the stage when the song finished. I laughed quietly and went to turn off the music. I sat on the edge of the stage with my guitar.

I walked out of the locker room and down the hall past the auditorium. I heard someone singing inside. I walked silently through the door, staying in the shadows. She looked tiny from where I was, at the back of the auditorium. But Becca was on the stage. She had started singing a new song. I chuckled when I realised what it was.

I was confused when I heard another voice singing. I looked around me and then up to where I saw Noah move out of the shadows. I beamed at him, still singing the song. He walked to the stage and took my hand, twirling me around. He pulled me to his chest and danced, both of us laughing.

I laughed with her, our laughs harmonizing. We were dancing even after the song finished. Just mock-ballroom but it was still funny. "You know, we should really practise our Taylor Swift number?" I stopped dancing, let her go and moved off the stage to find a guitar. I walked back on with the guitar hanging by it's strap around my body.

I shook my head and cleared my throat when he walked into the wings to find a guitar. I walked to the other side of the stage and picked up the sheet music I'd stowed there. I walked back onto the stage, meeting Noah in the middle. He plucked the guitar strings and I rolled my eyes, holding his copy up for him. I started singing.
"I've never gone with the wind

When the song ended, we were both grinning like idiots at each other.

I cleared my throat and looked away, dropping my arm that was holding his music up for him. I moved away, toward the edge of the stage.

When Becca cleared her throat, it kinda snapped us both out of some kind of. . . I don't know. We both looked away from each other. "Um.. yeah, we've got it nailed."

I swapped the sheet music for my guitar, slinging the strap around myself. I slid off the stage and picked up my music. "Later, Noah." I said, not looking at him, before leaving again.

"See ya." I said too quietly and too late. What the fuck? I shook my head and walked offstage.
