Becca sat in the waiting room chair, glancing around nervously at the other moms. She noticed that they were all older than her, some barely showing, some clearly far ahead in their pregnancy. Becca had half-forced Puck to get himself and Quinn a coffee or tea or something, insisting she was fine and she didn't need anything.

Once he was safely down the hall, Becca turned to Quinn. "Thank you." She smiled softly. "I-I know this must be...awkward for you." She added, knowing 'awkward' didn't begin to describe it but found herself at a loss for a better word.

"Very, the last time we were here together-" Quinn cut herself off sharply and looked at the ground hoping Becca hadn't noticed her slip up.

By 'last time', Becca knew that Quinn meant when she herself had given birth, not when they had both been laid up in hospital beds after their car accident. But before Becca could respond to what her friend had said, Puck was back, clogging a paper cup in each hand. The soft ring of the kind nurse's voice rang through the room. "Rebecca Garcia?"

"Looks like your up and I'll warn you. The stuff they put on your stomach. It's cold but hold still" Quinn answered and hugged Becca before relaxing back into her chair.

Becca's eyes widened at her friend's warning. "Are you not coming?" She asked, slightly panicky. Quinn was her source for information, her rock, in many ways. "Considering you'll be the Godmother after all." Becca added, beaming. She didn't know when was a suitable time to start discussing things like this but she had already spoken to Puck about God parents.

"I can't. Parent's only... Unless You want me to pretend to be your older-than-yourself child" Quinn joked and then added seriously, "You'll nail it. It's so cool... I've still got the DVD's from Beth's ultrasounds"

Becca smiled at her best friend before she got to her feet and quickly took Puck's hand, striding toward the nurse and the open door. As she walked, she felt bad for Quinn but she knew that giving Beth away was what she'd wanted so she quickly shook off the feelings as she took her place on the hospital bed. She glanced worriedly at Puck, reality came crashing down and made everything that was happening real. "Are you the father?" The doctor asked Puck. He nodded and she seemed satisfied.

Becca's heart picked up pace immediately and she concentrated on what the obstetrician was saying. "Don't worry, at your age, there's very little chance of there being a problem." She sounded bored and like she wanted to just go home which didn't calm Becca in the slightest. "This is gonna be a little cold." The woman droned.

Becca and Puck's hands never left each other's and the girl's free hand held up her shirt as the cold gel was squeezed onto her stomach. She tightened her grip on her boyfriend's hand, panicking slightly. He smiled at her, encouraging her, making sure she knew that he was there. She smiled back at him as the doctor got a good picture on the screen.

Becca gasped audibly when the doctor pointed out her baby's head and body. Her hand tightened around Puck's again as she stared at the screen, bewildered by the fact that this baby was actually hers and that he or she was inside of her.

Becca walked from the room, no longer interested in holding Puck's hand, focused entirely on the pictures she had been given of her baby. She made her way back to the seat quickly and sat next to Quinn, speechless.



(OOC: so I've never been pregnant and have never been to a scan(unless you count when I was the centre of attention on the screen ) and so or probably got a bunch of this wrong so if I have please point it out xD)

When Quinn saw them two come back she smiled at Becca and then looked at Puck and fake smiled at him. "How was it?" She asked as she turned her attention back to Becca.

Hearing the question, Becca knew she was being obnoxious. So she stowed the pictures in her purse and smiled at Quinn. "Cold." She joked.

"Haha. I remember the first time I got a sonogram. The only thing I was bothered about was the gel going on my uniform" Quinn answered and then said, "Did they give you any pictures?"

"Yeah, that sounds exactly like you." Becca joked before hesitating then pulling the pictures back out of her purse and handed them to Quinn, unsure if that was the smartest thing to do.

Quinn took the photos and slowly lifted them so she got a good look. She did and her breath caught in her throat. She let out a low choke and handed them back to Becca quickly.

Becca immediately regretted showing the pictures to Quinn and once again stowed them in her bag. "Quinn...I'm sorry.." Becca said worriedly.

"No.. It's fine. I.. I.. I gotta go" Quinn answered and stood up and walked away so quickly her mind didn't register which was she was going in until she saw the sign. 'Maternity ward' Quinn started to panic and looked around for the exit caught the board with the list of patients. Her eye only caught one name though and that name was Beth Cocoran. Quinn cried out and began to cry heavily. She couldn't stop the tears.

Becca ditched her purse and ran quickly across the room and down the hall to where she could hear her friend's crying. Without saying a word, Becca pulled Quinn into a hug, knowing that what she needed right now probably wasn't words. Becca's eyes moved to the board and she saw what she thought was the straw that broke Quinn's back. Beth Corcoran. Of course, Becca knew that Shelby Corcoran, Rachel's biological mom, had adopted Quinn's baby therefore she made th connection to the name immediately.

Quinn squeezed Becca for the comfort she needed badly but her knees buckled. "I have to see her." Quinn said and let go. She stumbled to the desk and asked about Beth.

Becca followed behind Quinn to the desk, unsure if she was stable enough to stay on her feet before finding her baby. Becca unconsciously kept one hand on her stomach as she walked and she found herself drumming her fingers against it lightly.

Quinn only listened for the room number and when she heard it, she was off. She ran through the maternity wing until she found the right room. She could see which one was hers as soon as she saw the face. The face that looked so grown up since the last time she saw her.

Quinn slowly walked to her bedside and looked at all the tubes connected to Beth and broke down in more tears.

Becca hesitated outside the little girl's door. She thought Quinn would probably want this moment to herself. Becca wondered idly where Beth's adoptive mom was. Watching her friend burst into further sobs, Becca quietly walked through the door to stand next to her, there for support if she was needed. "Quinn, not here. Enjoy the time with your baby girl." Becca spoke softly, raising a hand to rest it on her friend's shoulder. "you don't know what the matter is yet."

"Y.. your.. right." Quinn said and sniffed. She reached for one of the tissues on the side and wiped her eyes and nose. She walked a little closer, still sniffing and peered at her little girl.

Becca smiled slightly and stepped back, determined not to get in the way of the moment. He eyes fell on the baby for the first time. She looked like Quinn. Especially when her Eyes opened to look at her mom.

Quinn gasped when Beth's eyes opened. She saw the recognition in Beth's eyes and she began crying more again. She remembered her. She really did. Quinn yearned to scoop her up in her arms and go on and on about how sorry she was and how she loves her.

Becca smiled at the bond between mother and daughter. It was obvious that Beth recognised Quinn. Becca almost started crying as she watched Quinn's reaction to the baby girl from a few meters away.

Quinn couldn't take her eyes off beth. So when she spoke to Becca she didn't even know if she was still standing there. She was too caught up in the moment of seeing her daughter in flesh almost a year on from the most painful experience of her life.
"Do.. Does Puck know? know about Beth?" Quinn stuttered over the words.
